Nowruz (Nowruz is the Iranian New Year) is near. The old man is busy doing things to welcome spring, but the old woman is desperate for life and keeps grumbling that she will die soon and why no one is with them and they are alone. But the old man says that they should live with hope as long as they are alive. In one of the mornings, when the old man was painting the fences of the porch, he had a stroke and died. Now the old woman has to decide whether to continue to live hopelessly or... she looks at the things in the house and the old man's finished and unfinished works and decides to finish the old man's unfinished works.

Anesthesia is about the inner relationship between mother and daughter under the culture
where women are obligated to endure pain silently. The daughter starts to discover herself as a
woman after her anesthesiologist mother gets into a hereditary illness. She finds that her mother
was deeply aware of the cruelty of life, yet as an adult, she learns to suffer mutely, as society
has taught her. At the edge of her girlhood, she is struggling with finding exit. Their fate is
entwined, their pain recurring in a cyclical loop. Their mother-daughter relationship is intertwined
with their physical and mental anguish.

In 2022, shemoved to Los Angeles as an MFA candidate for the graduate Film Directing Program at Calarts.Yuhan’s practice focuses on the social dilemmas among people, especially womanhood. Antoine Pinson

Born in 1980 in Bordeaux, Antoine PINSON joined the ESRA Paris film school in 2001. Passionate about storytelling, he has since worked as a screenwriter, co-screenwriter or consultant for both cinema and TV. Since 2019, he has been the educational director of the School of the 7th Art, in Bordeaux, France. Leila Khalilzadeh

Leila Khalilzadeh is an Iranian-Canadian filmmaker based in Montreal. She has written, directed, and produced short fiction, animation, and documentary films that have been showcased at international festivals, including Berlinale and Festival du nouveau cinéma. A Berlinale Talents 2021 alumna, Leila holds an MFA in Film Production from Concordia University, Montreal, and an MA in Cinema from the University of Art, Tehran. She is currently developing her first feature film through a development fund from Telefilm Canada, a short documentary supported by the National Film Board of Canada, and a short fiction supported by Quebec's Société de développement des entreprises culturelles.
