Filmmaker
Marian (They/Them) is a filmmaker from Tijuana, Mexico (Kumeyaay) based in New York City (Lenapehoking). Their love for indie cinema has inspired them to aim towards creating films that push the narratives of unique individuals that go unnoticed - intentionally centering Queer, fat, BiPoC experiences. They aspire to continuously work on films and that reflect their communities with tenderness and joy rather than experiencing trauma.
In 2021, they became part of the inaugural student cohort of No Evil Eye Cinema’s alternative film school Film Futura. They are a Creative Futures Collective x Soho House 2023 Mentee. Their work has screened in online film festivals and in theaters such as the Village East by Angelika and Anthology Film Archives. Marian holds a Filmmaking BFA from the New York Film Academy.

Performance
DJ NIILO
As a Flori Bori Philly Rican, my artistry is a vibrant tapestry woven from the threads of my lived experiences. I am a writer, educator, DJ, and crowned olorisa in the Lucumí tradition, with over a decade of dedication to liberation movements. My work delves into the phenomenological impacts of diaspora Boricua and Afro-Caribbean performing arts, exploring how these creative practices transmute into powerful expressions of resistance and transformation. I believe that dancing and music are not merely art forms but vital components of the revolution, serving as dynamic sites for liberation politics, artistry, and scholarship. Through my collaborations as a dramaturg and music/sound designer in theater and film and DJ, I strive to create spaces where the rhythms of our collective interconnected heritages fuel the momentum for change, embodying the belief that creativity is the language of regeneration.
